“VALUABLE bikes” and other items have been stolen from properties in the Stoneybank area of Musselburgh.
Police are investigating the “spate” of break-ins to sheds over the past week and asking people to ensure that their sheds, garages and outbuildings are kept secure.
A police spokesperson highlighted that inexpensive shed alarms could be used.
They said: “As part of our policing commitments to tackle acquisitive crime, we have purchased a number of shed alarms which we can supply and fit free of charge.
“These are for elderly and vulnerable residents who reside in the area and will form part of a crime prevention survey.
“If you, or someone you know, fits the criteria above, please send details to MusselburghWestCPT@scotland.pnn.police.uk and we will get back to you.”
