TWO new stores are opening in North Berwick, both being the first of their kind in East Lothian.
Both Trespass and Joules have announced they are opening stores on North Berwick High Street (see images above).
Trespass, an outdoor clothing and equipment store, is opening its first branch in the county.
The new store will be at the site of the town’s former TSB banking branch, which closed in January.
Established in the 1980s, Trespass has more than 200 high street stores across the UK.
Jobs, both part-time and full-time, are currently being advertised, as well as a store manager position.
Currently, if East Lothian residents want to visit a Trespass store they have to travel to Fort Kinnaird in Edinburgh.
Meanwhile, Joules is a clothing, homeware and lifestyle brand founded more than 25 years ago in Market Harborough, Leicestershire.
The new North Berwick store will be the company’s eighth in Scotland, including one on George Street in Edinburgh.
It is taking over 99 High Street, the site of the former Woodcocks Flooring store.
Jobs at the new store are also still being advertised.
As well as having its own stores, Joules also sells items in Boots stores across the country.
Neither company has said when their new store is due to open and how many jobs will be created.
