SPIKES could be put in place in a bid to stop pigeons roosting at an historic building in the heart of Dunbar.
Castle Rock Edinvar Housing is looking to see “further pigeon prevention measures” added on the northern side of Lauderdale House.
A planning application is being weighed up by East Lothian Council’s planning department.
A document included with the application highlights the issue at the Listed Category A building, which is also in the town’s conservation area.
It reads: “Pigeons are fouling the portico on the north elevation and the proposal is to install additional pigeon spikes to the column capitals.
“The capitals already have spikes to the inside face and it is proposed to install them to two additional sides of each capital.”
