A YOUTH has been spotted firing a BB gun at members of the public.
Police were called out on Tuesday evening after reports of a toy BB gun being discharged in Musselburgh and Prestonpans.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “A youth who was in possession of the BB gun produced this on a bus and was observed firing it at members of the public.
“Local response and community officers have worked jointly with Lothian Buses and East Lothian Council to progress enquiries into this matter and this has led to the identification of the teenage male responsible.
“The BB gun has been recovered and the male charged with culpable and reckless conduct, together with an assault.
“A report will be submitted to the Youth Justice Officer.
“Police in East Lothian will continue to work with partners to reduce anti-social behaviour and would like to thank members of the public for their assistance in this matter.”
