A BUS had a window smashed while it was travelling through Prestonpans last Sunday (March 14).

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after the vehicle was targeted on the town’s Preston Road.

Patrols have been made in the area and will continue to take place.

Now, Constable Nixon, from the Prestonpans Community Policing Team, is calling for anyone with information about the incident, which took place at about 5pm, to get in touch.

The officer said: “This incident, while not only causing a financial loss to Lothian Buses, is a dangerous act which could have had a more severe outcome.

“If you have any information, please call 101 quoting incident number 2454 of 14/03/2021 or CR/016805/21.”

The incident came just days before Lothian Buses announced it would be withdrawing all of its services after 7.30pm in a bid to tackle anti-social behaviour.
