ALCOHOL was seized from youths in Haddington over the weekend during patrols by community police officers.
An increasing number of calls were made on Friday relating to youths gathering in large numbers and anti-social behaviour in the town.
As a result, on Saturday afternoon and evening community police officers completed high-visibility foot and mobile patrols across the town.
Officers engaged with a number of youths in the town centre, Lady Kitty’s Doocot and Neilson Park; the youths were then dispersed and a quantity of alcohol was seized and disposed of.
High-visibility patrols will continue in the area over the coming weeks.
