PUPILS at Ross High School in Tranent are the next to find out when they will be returning to school, with senior pupils in every morning.

Headteachers at high schools across East Lothian have been revealing their plans for phased returns to school, all due to begin on Monday.

The plans will all run for three weeks (until the Easter holidays).

Parents with children at Ross High School have now found out in a letter from headteacher Paul Reynolds when their youngster will return to the classroom for the first time since before the Christmas break.

The school has also prioritised face to face teaching for senior pupils, all of whom are undertaking national qualifications.

The timetable for Ross High School shared by Mr Reynolds to parents is shown below:

On Monday, pupils should go to the class they have period one in their regular timetable where they will be advised further, those with exceptions will be contacted.

School transport will be available for those who need it at the start and end of each block and each day, more information is to be revealed in due course. All pupils must war face coverings while travelling.

Pupils will see their classes split into a maximum of 10 to allow for social distancing

Those in S3 will rotate around maths, English and a period for each of their chosen subjects over the three weeks.

All pupils are asked to wear face coverings while in school unless exempt showing a note from a medical professional to prove this is the case.

They are also asked to maintain a two metres distance from others at all times, those who do not follow this rule will not be able to continue in-school learning, and a one way system is in place.

Mr Reynolds ended his letter by saying: “I know the amount of information you have had to keep up with over the last few months has been crazy.

“This really is the last hurdle now before we get back to some semblance of normality after the Easter holidays. I’m sure, like me, you are very much looking forward to that day.

“Thank you for your continued patience, flexibility and support of Ross High School.”
