POLICE in North Berwick were called out three times in one day earlier this year as complaints were made regarding alleged parties in breach of lockdown rules.

A report on recent incidents was given to North Berwick Community Council earlier this month.

In the early hours of January 5, a noise complaint was made regarding a property on Lochbridge Road.

After police were initially unable to attend, the complainer later confirmed the noise had stopped.

In the early hours of January 9, police were called to noise from a house party they were told was ongoing on Russell Walk. Officers attended but the house was in darkness and nothing was going on.

That evening, police were called to a loud music complaint at a house on Lochbridge Road. However, again there was no noise on arrival. The occupant was spoken to regarding the complaint.

Officers were also called to a noise complaint and possible party ongoing at a house on Lauder Rambling. They attended and found no breach of Covid rules but the occupier was warned regarding the noise.

Police were also called to a loud music complaint on Lochbridge Road in the early hours of January 17 but, again, all was quiet on police arrival; the occupier was spoken to and warned.

In non-noise-related callouts, on January 10 police were called to two youths climbing on an electricity substation at Law Primary School.

Police attended but there was no trace of the youths.

In the afternoon of January 17, a complaint was received regarding youths near the playpark in the Lodge Grounds who were said to be behaving in an anti-social manner.

Police were unable to attend at the time but no further reports were made regarding the issue.

Officers have been made aware of the issue and told to give passing attention when possible.
