A MAN has been fined and had points placed on his driving licence after a collision with another vehicle in Tranent.
Robbie Finlayson reversed his Vauxhall Corsa into Alistair McFadden’s vehicle at the town’s Asda petrol station on April 19 last year.
Finlayson, of Knowelsey Park, Haddington, failed to keep a proper lookout and reversed at excessive speed into the 67-year-old man’s car.
Finlayson, 32, failed to hand over his details and failed to report the accident to police within the required 24 hours.
He appeared at Edinburgh Justice of the Peace Court last Monday, where Sheriff John Cook fined him a total of £110 and handed him three penalty points.
Finlayson was also appearing over breaching a court order not to enter Musselburgh and to resisting arrest on September 18 last year.
The sheriff sentenced Finlayson – who admitted the charges – to 18 months of supervision.
