THE latest coronavirus statistics for East Lothian show that the number of positive cases is increasing, particularly in the west of the county.
The data, from Public Health Scotland, breaks down the number of positive Covid-19 cases in each community.
Where an area has fewer than two positive cases, it is presented as 0-2 to protect patient confidentiality.
Here are the 14 parts of East Lothian with the highest number of positive cases, in descending order, for the week between February 13 and 19; where two areas have the same number of positive cases, the one with the lower population (and therefore the higher percentage of positive cases) is listed first.
- Wallyford/Whitecraig – The area recorded 12 new cases (population 6,902).
- Prestonpans West – It recorded 11 new cases in the last seven days (population 5,666).
- Tranent South – The area recorded 10 new positive cases (population 6,203).
- Tranent North – It recorded eight new cases in the last seven days (population 6,827).
- Dunbar East – The easternmost area on this list, it recorded six positive cases (population 4,661).
- Ormiston – The area recorded five positive cases (population 2,968).
- Musselburgh North – This area also recorded five positive cases (population 4,865).
- Dunbar West – The area was another which recorded five positive cases (population 5,475).
- Haddington Rural – Haddington Rural also recorded five positive cases (population 6,341).
- Pinkie Braes – The area recorded four positive cases (population 2,360).
- Prestonpans East – The area recorded four positive cases (population 4,284).
- Musselburgh South – It also recorded four positive cases (population 4,594).
- Haddington South – It recorded four positive cases (population 4,777).
- East Linton and Rural – The area was another which recorded four positive cases (population 5,462).
All other areas of the county recorded fewer than two cases each in the past week.
Over the same period (February 13-19), East Lothian coronavirus statistics showed that 98 positive cases were recorded and the county’s seven-day positive rate per 100,000 of the population stood at 91.5.
When compared to the rest of the Lothian health board area, East Lothian's infection rate is higher than Edinburgh's (seven-day positive rate per 100,000 people of 89.9).
Midlothian’s seven-day positive rate is at 136.3 and West Lothian’s at 199.3.
Eight deaths from coronavirus have so far been registered in East Lothian for the month of February.
