A BONE that was initially thought to have belonged to a human was found near the bottom of North Berwick Law.
It was discovered alongside other items by someone using a metal detector in the afternoon of January 15.
Police attended and emailed a picture of the bone to an anthropologist, who confirmed the bone was from an animal and not a human.
The area where the bone was found appeared to be an old fly-tipping site.
