A DRIVER has been charged after being stopped by police.

East Lothian Community Action Team (ELCAT) officers saw a vehicle, which had previously been issued with a prohibition notice, being driven in Tranent last Monday afternoon, February 15.

A police spokesperson posted on social media: “The vehicle was stopped and checked out and found to have no valid MOT.

"The driver was subsequently charged with road traffic offences and an unconnected, outstanding shoplifting offence.”
