AN OFF-ROAD bike travelling along a popular county beach is posing “a significant safety risk”.

A police investigation has been launched after “a number of calls” about the bike being used at Belhaven Bay in recent weeks.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “This area is popular with walkers, dogs and horses and the presence and manner of driving present a significant safety risk.

“A number of offences are being committed by this behaviour and there are areas nearby which are protected as a unique habitat for wildlife.

“If you have any knowledge of the person responsible please contact police on 101.”
