A WALKER had an unexpected start to the month after becoming injured while walking on North Berwick Law.

The man was walking the famous hill in North Berwick yesterday afternoon (Monday) when he slipped and took a bad fall.

As a result the man was unable to move due to his injuries and the alarm was raised.

The Borders Search and Rescue Unit, East Lothian Police and members of Scottish Ambulance Service’s special operations rescue team, worked together to rescue the man.

Thanks to all of their efforts the man was taken safely to hospital.

A spokesperson for Borders Search and Rescue Unit said: “Another great example of the different teams working together.

“Wishing the casualty a speedy recovery!”

This was the second callout made to the Borders Search and Rescue Unit for East Lothian in the past seven days.
