SPECIALIST fire and rescue crews were called out to help save a dog trapped on rocks on Saturday afternoon.
Crews from Haddington, along with a rope rescue team from Tollcross, in Edinburgh, received a call shortly before 3.25pm to come to the aid of a woman and the Labrador at Chesters Hill Fort, between Drem and Haddington.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service told the Courier other emergency services were also at the scene.
She said: “Operations Control mobilised two appliances and one rope rescue unit to the scene to assist a person and a dog who were in difficulty.
“Firefighters brought them to safety.”
Neither the woman or the dog needed medical attention, with the firefighters stepping down at about 4.50pm.
