THE rise in coronavirus cases in East Lothian has not continued for the fifth time in the past seven days.

How do the latest figures compare?

For the first time in several days, East Lothian’s figures are the lowest in the Lothian health board area.

Midlothian’s seven-day positive rate per 100,000 people was lower than East Lothian's but this is no longer the case

Edinburgh’s seven-day positive rate per 100,000 of the population is sitting at 119.3, Midlothian’s at 121.1 and West Lothian’s at 139.8.

When compared to the rest of Scotland, East Lothian’s figures are fifth lowest in Scotland.

Areas of concern

When the county is broken down, three parts remain areas of concern, all recording a seven-day positive rate between 200 and 399:

  • Musselburgh North (14 cases)
  • Ormiston (six cases)
  • Tranent North (21 cases)

Nine places recorded a seven-day positive rate between 100 and 199, up two from yesterday. This list now includes:

  • Cockenzie (nine cases)
  • Haddington Rural (eight cases)
  • Longniddry and Aberlady (six cases)
  • Musselburgh East (five cases)
  • North Berwick South (six cases)
  • Pinkie Braes (four cases)
  • Prestonpans West (six cases)

  • Dunbar West
  • Gullane and Drem
  • Haddington North
  • Haddington South
  • Musselburgh West
