THE weather is set to cause more disruption in the county as another warning has been issued for East Lothian by the Met Office today (Wednesday), the sixth this year and second this week.
The ‘be aware’ warning for snow began at noon today and runs until noon tomorrow (Thursday).
It is the third warning for snow this year so far that the Met Office has issued for the county.
It covers most of the central and southern parts of East Lothian, with coastal towns and villages not falling under the warning area.
Persistent rain is going to increasingly turn to and fall as snow today and overnight into tomorrow, potentially bringing some disruption.
As much as 15-30 centimetres of snow could fall with rain more likely on lower, coastal ground, bringing some localised surface water flooding.
The warning includes the possibility of travel delays on roads and stranded vehicles as well as delays and cancellations on other transport services.
Some rural communities could become cut off and power cuts and disruption to other services may be likely.
