A DUNBAR man who breached a non-harassment order has been fined £100.

Paul Hood was ordered not to approach his former partner or to enter Lammermuir Crescent in Dunbar following a court case at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on February 8, 2019.

He was only allowed access to the street between certain hours of the day to collect his child when the primary school was in session.

But Hood, of Ash Grove, breached the order when he was caught in the street outwith those hours on April 15, 2019.

The 40-year-old appeared at the Capital court, where he admitted the offence.

Solicitor Rebecca Weissgerber told the court that Hood’s community payback order had been completed successfully and he had done all his unpaid work hours.

The lawyer added that it had been nearly two years since the breach and he had been of good behaviour since.

Sheriff Roderick Flinn told Hood that “a non-harassment order is not to be treated lightly” but acknowledged he had “unwittingly breached the convictions” and was content to hand out a small fine of £100.
