FORMER Scotland footballer Garry O’Connor has had his indecent exposure trial adjourned to later this year.

The ex-Hibernian FC forward is facing an allegation of dropping his trousers and exposing himself at a North Berwick hotel in June 2018.

O’Connor, 37, is also alleged to have behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and uttering offensive remarks.

The retired footballer was due to stand trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on February 2 but the trial has now been adjourned to July 18.

O’Connor – who scored four times in 16 appearances for Scotland – was excused attendance at court for a hearing on Monday and the new trial date was set in his absence.

Fiscal depute Sarah Quinn told the court that all outstanding evidence, including CCTV footage of the alleged incident, had now been passed to O’Connor’s defence team and the Crown was ready for trial.

O’Connor, of North Berwick, denies committing an act of public indecency by removing his trousers and underwear to expose himself while in a public place at the Marine Hotel, North Berwick, on June 30, 2018. He also denies behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and uttering offensive remarks.
