THE cold weather is set to continue, with all of Scotland placed under yet another yellow ‘be aware’ weather warning for ice.
The warning, issued by the Met Office, begins at 3pm today (Monday) and runs until 11am tomorrow (Tuesday).
As well as covering the whole of East Lothian and the rest of Scotland, the warning stretches to the north of England and the Midlands.
Ice is expected to form later on this evening and overnight as rain and snow clear southwards later on tonight; it will be followed by a rapid freeze.
On untreated roads and pavements, ice is expected to form, with a higher likelihood of accidents and injuries on these untreated surfaces.
On hilly areas, a couple centimetres of snow is expected to fall.
