BIN collections throughout East Lothian will continue as normal, despite the county moving into a second lockdown.

New restrictions impacting on businesses and various services across the country were introduced by Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon on Monday.

But East Lothian Council has moved to assure people that bin collections will continue "as scheduled" while recycling centres "remain open for essential visits where required".

However, libraries will not open in lockdown, with click and collect services operating at Dunbar, Haddington, Musselburgh and North Berwick libraries.

A council spokesperson said: "Users who have signed up can browse the collection on our website.

"These arrangements may be subject to change."
