ANOTHER case of coronavirus has been confirmed at North Berwick High School.

A letter was sent to parents yesterday (Saturday) highlighting the incident, which comes on the back of a previous positive test at the secondary school last month.

The letter, sent by the school and NHS Lothian, notes: "There has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the school.

"Those who have been in direct contact with the confirmed case have been contacted and will be staying at home for 14 days."

Advice is given as to what parents and carers should do if a child develops symptoms of coronavirus.

Symptoms include a new continuous cough and/or a high temperature and/or a loss of, or change in, taste or smell.

The letter continues: "All other household members of your child (including yourself) must also stay at home and self-isolate as well until the result of the test is received.

"The household should then follow the advice that will be given with the test result."

If a child develops symptoms of coronavirus, they must not go to school.

Last month, the Courier reported there had been positive cases at the secondary school.

At that time, it was confirmed "a small number of people" from the school had tested positive.
