MULTIPLE complaints regarding youths gathering in the Lodge Grounds have been made in recent weeks, police have reported.

On October 9, officers were alerted to a large group of youths congregating there.

Police attended; however, most of the youths dispersed upon their arrival.

Five or six of the youths were spoken to and given advice regarding noise and social distancing.

On October 10, police were called to a group of youths in the Lodge Grounds who were said to be playing loud music. Officers attended and spoke to three of the youths, who had a large Bluetooth speaker. All were given suitable advice and asked to return home.

On October 16, youths were said to be drinking alcohol and flouting Covid-19 regulations. Police were unable to attend due to other calls but no further calls regarding the incident were made.

In the early hours of October 17, a complaint was made regarding a party and loud music at a property on Lochbridge Road.

Officers attended and spoke with the occupier and his partner, who were watching TV at the time; there was no party and no loud music.

On October 19, a complaint was made to police regarding youths in the Lodge Grounds, who were said to be throwing eggs and traffic cones around.

Police attended, where four youths were found not causing any issues. They were all moved on and advised to return home.

On October 20, a complaint was made regarding youths on the platform at North Berwick Railway Station playing loud music.

Police attended and traced the youths; there were no issues and the youths were all dispersed.

On the evening of October 23, police were called to a large number of youths having a party in the Lodge Grounds. Officers attended but all the youths ran away.

On October 24, a complaint was made regarding a party on the beach that was breaking coronavirus regulations. Police attended but could find no people on the beach.

On October 25, a report was made regarding youths in the Lodge Grounds who were said to be playing loud music and setting off fireworks.

Police were unable to attend the incident but no further reports were made and there was no further police action.

At about 8pm on both October 30 and 31, police were called to the Lodge. There were said to be several youths setting off fireworks.

Officers attended on both occasions but the youths dispersed and no damage was observed at the time.
