AN ELDERLY man assaulted a woman with his bag in a North Berwick park, police have said.
The incident, which took place on Friday, was at the main entrance to the Lodge Grounds at East Road.
According to police, an elderly white man, described as 5ft 8ins, with a stocky build, grey hair, wearing a hairband and a raincoat, assaulted a woman with his bag.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “It is believed that a lady who was walking her dog stopped to help the female; however, officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident.”
The assault took place between 12.45pm and 1pm and anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 and quote reference number 1827 of October 30.
