A “SMALL number of people” at Musselburgh’s Burgh Primary School have tested positive for coronavirus.

News of the cases was sent to parents and carers by the school on Friday.

This is the third set of cases reported at a school in East Lothian last week, after two cases were reported at North Berwick High School on two separate days.

A number of people have now been contacted as they have been in close contact with confirmed cases, the tracking process has been completed.

Those who have been contacted are now self-isolating as per the Scottish Government guidance.

People who have not been contacted were told they do not need to self-isolate.

Schools across East Lothian are now closed to pupils until next Tuesday (October 27) for the October half term break.

This is the second school in Musselburgh to record positive tests, Musselburgh Grammar School previously reported two cases.

Cases have also been reported at Haddington, Wallyford, Pencaitland and Preston Tower Primary Schools as well as St Mary’s Nursery in Haddington and five East Lothian high schools.
