COLIN Beattie MSP is urging people to support local catering venues amidst the Covid-19 crisis, following a visit to Musselburgh.

He recently toured the Eskmills Venue at Station Road, which is run by catering company Hickory and hosts weddings and other events.

Mr Beattie, who represents Midlothian North and Musselburgh, said many businesses were enforcing Scottish Government restrictions.

Eskmills Venue has been instrumental in supporting the local community during the pandemic, working in partnership with the Resilient Musselburgh team to deliver hot, nutritious, three-course meals daily.

Mr Beattie said: “Visiting Eskmills Venue was eye opening for me in showing just how much businesses can adapt to overcome the challenges the coronavirus pandemic has presented.

“I would encourage residents in my constituency to do what they can for local businesses and to invest energy in businesses, like Eskmills Venue, who go the extra mile to keep their customers safe.”

Stephanie Stubbs, from Hickory, said: “Whilst the restrictions are in place the business is doing everything it can to remain viable though Hickory @ Home, a restaurant delivery service of fine dining quality food delivered to people’s home.

“We will continue to diversify and have lots of exciting new products and plans to be launched for Christmas.”
