A GROUP of S3 North Berwick High School pupils were left soaked on the pavement on Tuesday, when a bucket of water was tipped on them from a flat above the High Street's Co-op store.
The students claim they were queuing on the pavement during school lunchbreak and were unaware of why they might have been subjected to the ordeal.
A woman was said to have spoken to the pupils at the front door to the flat, before returning inside and throwing the water from an upstairs window.
One student said a friend had joined the queue only seconds before the water was thrown on them.
Staff at the store said they did not see the incident happen and that CCTV footage did not cover the area affected.
The school was made aware of the incident.
