Emergency services rushed to the scene this morning
AN investigation has been launched after bales of hay were deliberately set alight in a field near Renfrew.
Emergency services who rushed to the scene in Arkleston Road at around 1am this morning found the haystack well ablaze.
A crew from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was able to put out the flames before anyone was injured.
Police said the nozzle of a jerry can was found nearby and have confirmed the incident is being treated as wilful fireraising.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage of the area around the time of the incident is asked to contact police on 101.
