A SWAN was spotted on the loose by Paisley police who guided it back to safety.
Spotted by local man David Hogg on Weir Street near to Paisley Gilmore Street station, the swan was only a short waddle from the Old Swan Inn on Smithhills Street.
The animal was spotted swanning around on Weir Street where it was approached by two officers.

The bird walked down over Abercorn Bridge and then took like a swan to water back into the safety of the Cart, guided by a helpful passerby on a bicycle.

David and the good samaritan fed the swan some bread and then saw it back into the river.
David said: "I saw it at 4.30 pm, I walked past the Old Swan pub and the police were already there.

"The swan wandered along the main road and stopped. The guy on the bike in the second picture stopped and ushered it down to the river and the police left.
"We threw bread out and the guy got it back into the river."
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "We were made aware of a swan on Weir Street in Paisley around 4.20pm on Tuesday, September 22.
"The animal was removed safely from the road a short time later."
