A MUSSELBURGH woman who was caught more than five times the drink-drive limit has been banned from the road.

Marie Skinner, of Arrow Crescent, was found to have 118mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath when she was breathalysed after being stopped by police in the town last August.

The legal limit is just 22mg.

Skinner, 57, pleaded guilty to the offence when she appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

Sheriff John Cook heard that Skinner was caught drink-driving at Battlefield Drive in Musselburgh on August 11 last year.

The sheriff banned Skinner from driving for 22 months but added that if she completed the drink-driving rehabilitation course then the ban would be reduced by 25 per cent.

Skinner was also fined £640.
