A HADDINGTON teenager has been fined after he admitted assaulting a woman at a bus stop in the town.
Jay Geraghty, of Queens Avenue, pushed the woman on the body and threw her against the bus stop at Market Street on December 8 last year.
The 19-year-old also punched PC Kirsten Capaldi on the head after police had been called out to deal with the incident.
He pleaded guilty to the two offences when he appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in March and sentence was deferred for him to be of good behaviour.
Geraghty returned to court last Tuesday, where Sheriff Adrian Cottam fined him a total of £200 on both charges.
A £10 victim surcharge was also ordered to be paid.
Geraghty admitted assaulting an unnamed person by pushing her on the body and throwing her against a bus stop at Market Street, Haddington, on December 8 last year.
He also admitted assaulting a police constable on the same date at the same location.
