GLASGOW’S most famous tearoom begins a phased reopening on Wednesday following a successful crowdfunding campaign which raised £20,000.
Mackintosh at the Willow bosses have paid tribute to “the support and donations from our wonderful customers, friends and family” and released a statement reassuring customers that the social enterprise will re-open “safely in accordance with government guidelines.”
It adds: “The floors have been refinished, the building exterior has had a fresh coat of paint and the Salon de Luxe is looking as new as the day it first opened its stained-glass doors in 1903.”
Mackintosh at the Willow is a restoration of the original tearooms building, transformed into an interactive visitor centre dedicated to the world-famous designer.
Details of opening times for the tearooms, tour and exhibition are available on the venue’s website.
