PEOPLE will brave the shave next month to raise money for a Tranent mum-of-four in her battle against a cancerous brain tumour.

Trudie Murphy is attempting to raise thousands of pounds after receiving the diagnosis earlier this year.

A fundraiser takes place at Royal Musselburgh Golf Club on October 4, with entertainment including heads being shaved.

Trudie, who works in Tranent’s Asda store, has been boosted by a £200 donation from Tranent Belters.

The donation takes the 36-year-old’s fundraising total to more than £22,000.

Initially, Trudie was referred to hospital for brain and spinal MRIs. It was thought she had MS but the scans showed she had an inoperable brain tumour.

Trudie is now exploring options to see what treatment can be carried out.
