A CHARITY which aims to ensure everyone can make the most of the beach has received a cash boost.
North Berwick Beach Wheelchairs was given £400, with money coming from The Grand Lodge of Scotland’s Covid-19 Challenge Appeal.
The county charity enables people with disabilities to access several beaches by making available wheelchairs specially designed with large wheels that are not hampered by the sand.
John Starr, chairman of the town’s Highland Games, handed over a cheque to Melanie Kay, vice-chairwoman of the Beach Wheelchairs group, on behalf of Lodge St Baldred No 313.
The donation will be used to offset additional costs being incurred by the charity to enable them to operate safely during the current Covid-19 situation.
