AN 83-YEAR-OLD man remains in “a serious but stable” condition in hospital following a four-vehicle crash in Musselburgh yesterday (Thursday).
The incident took place on the town’s North High Street and saw a Vauxhall Corsa involved in a collision with three vehicles.
Emergency services were called out and the 83-year-old driver of the Corsa was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
Sergeant Jennifer Forbes, from Lothian and Scottish Borders Road Policing Unit, urged witnesses to get in touch.
She said: “The 83-year-old driver sustained significant injuries and enquiries are ongoing to establish exactly what happened.
“I would appeal to anyone who was on the road around 10.30am on Thursday morning, particularly motorists with dashcams, to please get in touch if you have information that could assist our investigation.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Lothian and Scottish Borders Road Policing Unit through 101, quoting incident number 0997 of August 27.”
