A BUSY section of road in North Berwick will switch to one-way traffic flow from this evening (Thursday).
Pop-up bollards are being installed today on Law Road, from Kirk Ports to the junction with St Margaret’s Road.
Temporary changes are being made throughout East Lothian as part of the Spaces for People programme, to allow more space for physical distancing.
A spokeswoman for East Lothian Council said: “That part of the road will become a one-way system – cars [will] travel south up towards the crossroads.
“The footpath is very narrow on that stretch of road, making it difficult for people to physically distance.
"This will widen the footpath to create that safer space for people walking into town or from the town towards nursery or the schools.”
The change is likely to remain until the end of the year.
