A THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged following a fire which destroyed a large vehicle and trailer.
Police were called out to Tranent’s Well Wynd yesterday (Monday) afternoon by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
Due to the intensity of the blaze, which was reported at about 2.20pm, a nearby property was also damaged.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Following enquiries, a 13-year-old male youth was traced and subsequently charged with the offence.
“If anyone has any further information regarding the incident then they are asked to contact police on 101 and quote incident number 1888 of August 24.
“Or alternatively they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
