A SOCIAL care services provider is among the businesses filling a restored historic building.

Call-In Homecare, which has bases in Edinburgh, Dundee and Livingston, is the biggest single occupier in Haddington House.

The company has relocated its office on Market Street to the A-listed building on nearby Sidegate.

The building, which is owned by the Lamp of Lothian and dates back to the 17th century, has recently undergone a six-figure refurbishment programme.

There is now one office available to let.

“The appeal of commuting to an office in Edinburgh or elsewhere since the pandemic started has diminished somewhat and home working is not for everyone,” said Jenny Harper, Lamp of Lothian chairwoman. “We have introduced full social distancing and protective measures since we opened in June, so people can work here safely and enjoy a modern business environment.”

St Columba’s Care, Atheian, Copson IT and Kevin MacKenzie Architecture and Design are also tenants.

“We’ve even had an East Lothian-based university professor taking space because his usual campus office is closed as a result of the coronavirus,” added Mrs Harper.
