DIEHARD Hibernian fan Josh Taylor will be cheering on his team – even when he is not at Easter Road.

The boxing double world champion is one of the cardboard cut-outs put in place at the home of the Hibees.

Supporters are unable to attend top-flight matches in the Scottish Professional Football League, which got under way earlier this month.

While Jack Ross’ men were hosting Kilmarnock in the season-opener, a cut-out of Taylor was sitting watching the two teams.

Taylor, 29, has made no secret of his desire to host a world title fight at the stadium in the Capital.

And he visited Easter Road in November last year after defeating Regis Prograis to become WBA World Super Lightweight champion and win the World Boxing Super Series.

Former Preston Lodge High School pupil Taylor already held the IBF World Super Lightweight title after defeating Ivan Baranchyk in Glasgow in May last year.

Taylor, from Prestonpans but now living in Haddington, has been busy training in the Canary Islands as he looks to get back in the ring.

He was due to fight Apinun Khongsong earlier this year but the fight was cancelled due to the coronavirus.

No new date has been announced for the bout, with hopes it could be before the end of next month.
