VOLUNTEERS have been praised for their hard work in bringing a historic town centre building back into use.

Dunbar’s Christmas lights team has been based in the town’s Corn Exchange, off High Street, for a number of years. However, concerns have regularly been raised about the condition of the building, which dates back to 1885.

Pippa Swan, chairwoman of the town’s community council, thanked volunteers for the hard work that had gone into ensuring the building did not become further dilapidated.

She said: “I was really thrilled to be invited to come and have a look at the Corn Exchange.

“It is remarkable what the team has done there. It was damp, smelly and inhospitable and now it is fully lit, it is dry and it is comfortable.

“I think a huge thanks has to go to Graham Adams, Craig Rapson and the Christmas lights team for what they have done.”
