A SCHOOL bus has been involved in a crash on its way to pick up pupils heading to Haddington this morning.
No children were on the 158 Gifford to Knox Academy bus when it was involved in a collision with a van shortly before 8am.
Images from the scene show the van apparently striking the back of the bus.
Police have closed the B6368 Bolton to Gifford road at Lennoxlove and a diversion route is in place via Nungate/ Gifford Road.
The 60-seater school contract bus is operated by AC Taxis who quickly sent a replacement out to collect youngsters and East Lothian Council said the school had been informed of the incident.
A spokesperson said: "No young people were on board at the time and the driver has not sustained any injuries."
Police and emergency services are currently on scene although no-one is believed to have needed emergency medical treatment.
A police spokesperson said enquires into the incident are ongoing.
