SPONSOR boards recognising the hard work of key workers throughout the coronavirus pandemic will have a home at Tranent Juniors’ ground.
Three sponsor boards will be dotted around the pitch at Foresters Park as a mark of recognition to those doing their bit during the global virus outbreak.
David Innes, chairman of the club, felt it was a fitting gesture.
He said: “That was the first thing we thought of doing during the summer.
“We wanted to thank the NHS; my wife works with them.
“A lot of the guys on the committee have friends in the NHS.
“It was a no brainer.”
The sponsor boards feature a rainbow, with colourful drawings of rainbows appearing in windows the length and breadth of the country during the pandemic.
The message on the sponsor board reads: “Thank you! NHS staff, front-line services, support services and key workers.”
Mr Innes said that two sponsor boards were already in place at the ground, with plans for a third to be erected.
