COVID-19 testing at a mobile testing unit is taking place at Cockenzie Power Station this week.
It re-started today (Monday) and runs until Wednesday at the site on Edinburgh Road, 10am-6pm.
Tests can be booked through the UK Government’s online system, www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test, for those who are key workers or those who live with one.
Alternatively they can be booked through the NHS website at www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19
A limited number of home testing kits are available for those who cannot make it to the testing site, but priority will continue to be given to key workers and can be secured by booking through their employer.
As of May 18, testing is for people who have symptoms and are over the age of five as well as household members who are experiencing symptoms.
Symptoms include a new continuous cough, a fever and a loss or change in smell or taste.
Anyone who develops symptoms is asked to self-isolate immediately as well as all members of their household until they receive a negative test result.
More information on testing is available at www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-getting-tested
This is not the first time Covid-19 testing has taken place at the former power station site.
A mobile testing unit first visited the site between May 16 and 18 and later visited again from May 30-June 1.
It was operated by the 51st Infantry Brigade which oversees the army reserve units in Scotland.
