Glasgow City Council is introducing a range of temporary measures in the area which will include footway widening, one-way operations and contraflow lanes.

Union Street, Bath Street and St. Vincent Street are among those being widened.

We asked our readers what they thought about the new measures on our City Centre Community Facebook Group.

Margaret Ann Maxwell wrote: "Hopefully they will take disabled people on wheelchairs into consideration. "There are many pavements that you can get on to the pavement on one side but then you can’t get off the pavement as there is no dip Edinburgh is extremely bad for this. Glasgow is slightly better but not great."

Alan Sayers wrote: "Yet, it is the motorist being shafted more and more. Let’s sort out the social problems in the city first. So many cycle lanes that are hardly used, can’t even fix potholes and the roads."
