A COMEDIAN is braving the icy waters of the canal to raise money for a mother with motor neurone disease.
Sighthill-raised Gary Faulds is swimming laps of the Pinkston Watersports pool to raise funds for Jennifer Bell a 29-year-old mother-of-two who has “reached the final chapter” of her battle with the fatal brain and nerve illness, according to a fundraising page.
He said: “I know Jennifer has raised thousands for MND so this is people just giving a wee bit back.”
Other celebrities are climbing Ben Nevis but Gary wanted to do something different.
“I decided I was going to swim in the canal for a mile a day. It means I can pick up the baton and do another seven days of fundraising.
“Pinkston Watersports has been giving me my swims for free, so I’ve been out everyday and with everything that’s been going on it’s nice to jump in the water and forget everything.”
