BIKE thieves struck in Haddington this week in the latest of what police have said is the latest in a spate of bicycle thefts in the county.
Police have been actively patrolling following what they said was a "small number of thefts of pedal cycles" in recent weeks.
Despite this another theft took place with a bicycle taken from a communal garden on Hardgate sometime between Sunday evening and yesterday morning.
The bike is described as a B12 Twin, red and orange mountain bike with a ripped seat.
Police are appleaing for anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious in the area to telephone 101, quoting incident number 0784 of 15/06/2020.
A police spokesperson said: "In light of this, we are reminding the public to ensure that their homes, garages and outbuildings are properly secured, with valuable items stored safely and securely, where they cannot be seen."
