A STONY snake has slithered into Wallyford, courtesy of local children.
The colourful, creative design is giving youngsters added fun when they venture out for exercise each day during lockdown.
The Knight family – Jack, 11, twins Kayden and Kai, aged eight, and their sister five-year-old Lily – launched the project which involves placing painted stones to form Wally the snake’s body.
Their mum, Sam Wylie, 30, of Inchview Crescent, got the idea, via social media, from a similar project in Prestonpans.
The children painted stones from the garden and placed them to start off the design on the ground near the local library and office at Wallyford Primary School in Futures Way.
They are now hoping other youngsters will follow suit by adding their colourful stones to make the snake even bigger.
Sam said: “I thought it was a fun thing for children to do while they are out for a walk.
“Mine get so excited to see how many other stones have been placed there.”
Mhairi Stretton, headteacher at Wallyford Primary School, tweeted: “Was lovely to stop and look at all the stones left on Wally.
“Children’s names, school values, messages of love, kindness and hope.
“Reopening the building means so much in so many ways. Team Wallyford.”
