CHILDREN attending the Musselburgh Hub paid tribute to key workers with artwork which was displayed at the local Tesco supermarket.

They were asked to create a window display for the store by its community champion, Jane Shepherd, and were rewarded with some treats.

The hub, based at Pinkie St Peter’s Primary School, provides learning and childcare. Those who attend include the children of key workers and others with severe and complex additional support needs.

Scarlett Palmer, depute head teacher at Pinkie St Peter’s, said: “The children, along with the staff, in their hub groups decided to create a chain of key workers with a rainbow shining over them.

“The children decided which key workers should be represented and worked in small teams to design and decorate them based on their version of what the uniforms should look like.

“They had lots of fun making them and were rewarded with ice pops from Tesco, which were lovely on a warm day.

“The display looks great in Tesco and I’m sure is bringing a little joy to customers as they queue outside.”
