A planning application to re-roof the police station in Musselburgh has been lodged with East Lothian Council.
Police Scotland's estates department is hoping to get the go-ahead to carry out the work on the building at 174 High Street.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The current roof is ageing and in need of replacement. Detailed planning for how the work will be carried out, if approved, is ongoing. There is not anticipated to be any impact on operational activity."
