A CHARITY has been blown away by a £5,000 donation.
Cancer support group Marie Curie received the four-figure sum from Community Windpower and BeGreen Dunbar’s Covid-19 crisis fund.
The donation enables Marie Curie clinical nurse specialists to deliver care to people in their own homes while wearing the PPE (personal protective equipment) they need to deliver that care safely.
Carolyn Snedden, Marie Curie fundraising manager, said: “This donation is a tremendous boost for us and will make such a difference to families at this time.”
Diane Wood, community benefits director at Community Windpower, which operates the Aikengall Community Windfarms, near Innerwick, said: “Marie Curie does amazing work with people in our local communities and we’re pleased to help the nurse specialists provide their care safely.”
